Student services

All Middle and Secondary students get allocated a locker for the academic year. These are large enough to hold a bag, coat, books and a winter boots.

The Middle and Secondary School have access to the Snack Shack found near the Big Gymnasium – which is run by the senior class – it is open during both morning breaks for the purchase of snacks and drinks.

Homework, and the amount you receive usually depends on how much work you complete in class. If you are not productive, or you have been absent it is likely you will have days where there is more. We strongly encourage students to borrow reading material from our library so that they always have something to do at home. It is expected that as students get older, the level of homework increases.

Laptops are not provided by the school. All students should have their own devices to work on in school. A mobile phone is NOT considered an appropriate electronic device for classes.

Medical Notes (справка) are required when 3 or more days of school are missed for ANY reason. If a student has been absent and they arrive without a note, they will be sent home until one is obtained

At school we have several trained professionals who can assist students with socio-emotional concerns. In the secondary and middle school students should see Mrs Mahon or Mrs Routh as a first point of call.

AIS is proud to have many events, clubs and activities, as well as sports teams aimed at the 7 and 8th grade age. Our Athletics and Activities Director, Mr. Brown can assist students who are new to AIS find an event, club or sport that suits them.

AIS is a large school and when you are new to the campus, it can seem confusing. There are maps in all of the hallways, as well as a color coded hallway system that can help students find their way to classes. We also have a fixed daily schedule from 8am to 3.15pm that is repeating Monday through Friday.
